CONCEPT
37 carats is a sculpture that stages a solitaire ring through a device erected like a monolith, whose compressed surface is pierced with heart motifs.
The work questions the role industry plays in fabricating contemporary rites and myths. It dissects the solitaire to reveal its speculative origins and the central role it occupies in the society of the image.
The bio-integration process deforms the monolith and reveals its artifice, setting biological authenticity against commercial immediacy.
