CONCEPT
245 carats to the power of 3.6 is a bas-relief sculpture subverting the codes of high jewellery to portray a transhumanist and cyber-conservative civilisation.
In a society where technology is the only hope of survival and the ultimate social marker, it paradoxically serves to perpetuate archaic traditions. Deprived of natural resources, the heritage of adornment is ritualised to fix the power of lineages, meticulously composing diamonds and synthetic stones directly on the subjects' skin.
The work's rewilding takes place through a graphic bio-integration process: Nature reclaims its surface by generating a network of lines that folds the material back on itself. This transfiguration questions our present and our relationship with progress, with nature and with ourselves.
